  • In the past few months, I have started using Jetbrains Toolbox to manage Intellij’s various IDEs.
  • Using the Toolbox app, I installed the stable version of Android studio.
  • As a next step, I would like to install the canary version, but I am unable to locate the location to do so. So here’s how I managed to find that spot to figure out how to install a different version of the same IDE.

So let’s get started

  • Open the toolbox and follow the highlighted steps
  1. Next to Android Studio, click on the three-dotted menu
  2. Then click on Other versions
The first and second steps to install other versions
  • After tapping on the Other versions you will see the following screen

Here you can select whichever version you want to install.

You can see the respective channel next to each version(Canary, RC, etc.)

The third step is to install other versions
  • Now after you tap on the Install, you will see the terms and conditions screen (T&C)
The fourth and fifth steps to install other versions
  • Finally, after you tap on Install Android Studio, Toolbox will begin the download

Here you can check the status of your download.

You don’t need to keep the toolbox open and watch 👀 it to download

Track the status of the download
  • Once the toolbox completes the download, you will see the following notification pops up 🔔
The download has done a notification

🎉🎉🎉🎉 Done 🎉🎉🎉🎉
